Keeping Sacred Time: Devotionals for the Christian Year

Lent is a season of preparation—a time when we ready our hearts to receive the good news that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has delivered us from sin, evil, and death.

Beginning with Ash Wednesday, this 40-day pilgrimage recalls Jesus’s own preparation time in the wilderness. As we follow him, we’re called to turn from wrongdoing, to strip back our dependencies, and to align ourselves more closely with Christ as we anticipate his Easter victory over death. In this way, Lent is an important time of spiritual growth.

Locally produced by Venn Foundation, this resource is designed to help churches, small groups, households, and individuals enter into the season of Lent. These beautiful cards will lead you through the six weeks of Lent, culminating in Palm Sunday. For each week, there is a Scripture reading, a reflection, a question to ponder together, and a collect (a short, written prayer). Each pack includes devotional cards for Ash Wednesday, and Lent weeks 1–6, along with descriptions of the Lenten season and some suggestions of how to use this resource.
