OFFER

Successful applicants will be formally offered a place on the programme, beginning Sunday, 13 November 2022.

If you have any questions about the application process,
please email Donald Goodhall, Director of the Residential Fellowship, or phone 09 929 4988.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN!

The application will take some time to fill out. Read through it thoroughly before you begin. We suggest that you take your time on the questions. Work on them in a separate, saveable document and paste in your complete, pre-typed answers when you are ready.

Please note there are also three documents you are required to upload:

  1. A recent photograph of yourself.
  2. The most recent copy of your academic transcript.
  3. A copy of your CV. Each file must be no larger than 2MB. Have these ready to attach at the bottom of the form.
DURATION

The seven-month Residential Fellowship starts on Sunday, 13 November 2022 and runs through to the end of June 2023. The programme consists of four modules plus the Venn Summer Conference. For those in the middle of study, there is the option of finishing at the end of Module II which concludes at the beginning of March 2023. However, we will give preference to those applying for the full seven-month programme.

FULL-TIME PROGRAMME

The Fellowship is a full-time programme. Classes run from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. In addition, Monday and Thursday nights at the residences are reserved for hosting and evening discussions. A number of trips are also built into the programme, including a week-long retreat at the start of the programme, the Summer Conference in early January, a visit to Waitangi, and a weekend retreat during Module III.

PLACEMENTS

Placements are decided through a process of discussion with you and placement providers.

FULLY RESIDENTIAL

The programme is fully residential with Fellows living together in Auckland. Fellows are expected to participate fully in the day-to-day running of the homes.

ALL-INCLUSIVE

All items associated with the programme are supplied by Venn Foundation for the duration of the Fellowship. This includes all food, utilities, internet, accommodation, trips and so on. From week to week, you will need only a small amount of your own money for personal toiletries, a mobile phone, the running of your vehicle (if you intend to bring it), and the odd coffee (though we do have an excellent coffee machine on-site!).

COST

The cost per Fellow is $30,000 for the seven and a half months, and $20,000 for Modules I and II. This includes accommodation and food. As a charity, all of our costs must be raised by donations and fees. We are committed to covering 50% of the cost for each Fellow through our own donor networks. We ask Fellows to contribute the other 50% through personal finance, as well as donations from friends and family. Our commitment is that finance not be a barrier to attendance. Please contact us before allowing a lack of funds to discourage you from applying.

Please note that this contribution structure applies to Australasian applicants only. If you are an international applicant, please contact us for cost details.
