Venn Lockdown Radio: Programme Four

As the nation’s attention shifts to life beyond Alert Level 4, we’re also making plans for how to continue supporting and encouraging you during this season. From next week, we will be moving to fortnightly delivery of both Lockdown Radio and Common Ground. If you’ve got any feedback or special requests as we prepare to move to a new frequency let us know.

In this week’s programme, your hosts Sam and Julia Bloore take a moment with alumni Emma (Intern 2012) and Charles (Intern 2008, Venn Board Treasurer and Deputy-Chair) Belcher. Emma and Charles share stories from lockdown life with their three children and offer some insight into the enormous challenges the hospitality industry is facing. You will also hear from Tessa Simpson (VVP Wellington 2018) as she talks about her work with the Crown Law Office, helping other Government departments understand the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi. And staying in the capital, this week you will hear from Venn Wellington Co-ordinator and Senior Teaching Fellow, John Dennison, about his life as a chaplain at Victoria University, his three Common Ground pieces on prayer, and how he is finding time for God, for family, and for poetry.

This has been a big week for us all. Take some time with Sam and Julia and hear what a few Venn alumni, board members, and staff have been up to in lockdown.

Arohanui,

The Venn team
